Ron Reddic was named Grand Canyon University's first women's bowling coach. GCU will begin offering the NCAA ReddicDivision II sport in the winter.
While serving as captain on the men's team at Texas Southern University from 1978-80, Reddic coached the women's team. In one season, he guided the Tigers from a 16th place to sixth place national finish at the intercollegiate level. The NCAA did not recognize women's bowling as a sport at the time.
Reddic, who offers private lessons to adults, coached youth bowling for five years in Phoenix.
