GCU drops second match to defending champ Ohio State

GCU (1-8, 0-3) lost 3-0 by set scores 30-24, 30-22, 30-25.
In their loss to the No. 13 team in the nation and 2009 Final Four participant, the Antelopes had their third-best hitting night of the season and best in its three-match MIVA history. GCU hit .298.
Freshman Kyle Olszewski (Medinah, Ill./Lake Park) had six kills and a .714 average. Freshman Chris Lockwood (pictured, Lakewood, Calif./Lakewood) had eight kills and a .412 average.
Sophomore Brock Hutchins (Gilbert, Ariz./Highland/Hawai'i) and freshman Robbie Brannick (Minooka, Ill./Minooka) each had a team-best nine kills. Hutchins hit .389. Sophomore Nick Jensen (Herning, Denmark/Ikast Gymnasium/NJIT) had one solo block and four block assists to go with three kills.
Hutchins had three service aces. Freshman setter Brad Moore (Orange, Calif./Lutheran) had 33 assists and frosh libero Trent Bruns (Mission Viejo, Calif./Mission Viejo) had a team-high five digs. Olszewski added four digs.
An unassisted kill by Lockwood gave GCU its lone lead of the match, 4-3, in the second set.
