Antelopes split with Johnson and Wales

After winning the afternoon match 3-0 (30-23, 30-23, 30-19), GCU lost 3-0 by set scores of 30-20, 30-27, 30-24.
Sophomore Brock Hutchins (Gilbert, Ariz./Highland/Hawaii) had 15 kills and five digs. Freshman Chris Lockwood (pictured, Lakewood, Calif./Lakewood) had seven kills and a .538 hitting percentage.
Freshman Trent Bruns (Mission Viejo, Calif./Mission Viejo) led in digs with 11. Freshman setter Brad Moore (Orange, Calif./Lutheran) had 31 assists, three service aces and a solo block.
Freshmen Robbie Brannick (Minooka, Ill./Minooka) and Zach Neilson (Phoenix, Ariz./Sandra Day O'Connor) each had four kills.
GCU plays its inaugural Midwestern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association match Thursday at Ball State. It will take on defending MIVA champ Ohio State Friday and Saturday.
