Grand Canyon had leads in both games of Saturday's doubleheader, but couldn't hold on to either one.
GCU (5-9) dropped a pair of games at Brazell Stadium to Montana State University Billings. The Lopes lost 14-9 in the opener and 14-8 in the finale.
In game one, GCU had a 5-3 lead after three and trailed only 9-8 going into the seventh, but the Yellow Jackets scored five unearned runs, all with two outs, to pull away.
In game two, GCU frosh Kevin Burbank had a shutout for four and two-thirds innings and led 4-0, before the Jackets rallied. Still, GCU led 8-6 going into the seventh, but Montana State scored eight runs in its at-bat.
