GCU loses inaugural men's volleyball match

SANTA CRUZ, Calif. -- GCU played its first-ever men's volleyball match Friday at West Fieldhouse.
It will have to wait at least one more day for its first victory.
The Antelopes fell 3-0 to host UC Santa Cruz, a Division III Final Four team last year, by set scores of 30-27, 30-17, 30-19.
GCU will play UC Santa Cruz again Saturday at 3 p.m. PT and will take on Holy Names Saturday at 5 p.m.
Freshman Taylor Griffin (pictured on main page) had eight kills and two service aces. Junior Tyson Crandell (pictured above) also had eight kills. Sophomore setter Chris Bradshaw had 27 assists.
Freshman Kyle Norton added seven digs and freshman Brennan Zotovich had four total blocks.
