Watkins named to Mizuno all-tourney team

Junior second baseman Yasmeen Watkins was named to the Mizuno Tournament of Champions all-tournament team.

Watkins hit .313 (5 for 16) with three home runs and eight RBI as Grand Canyon went 3-3, advancing to the Gold Bracket quarterfinals in the three-day tournament.

Watkins is batting .347 with a team-high six homers and 28 RBI this season.

The 18-team tournament, hosted by Cal State Stanislaus, concluded Sunday in Turlock, Calif.
