OLYMPIA, Wash. -- Grand Canyon women's golf team shot 328 Thursday in the first round of the St. Martin's Jennifer LutzUniversity Invitational, settling into fourth place. The tournament will continue on Friday at Tumwater Valley Golf Course.
GCU's Jennifer Lutz shot 79, and is tied for fifth with two other golfers. Western Washington's Christa Goldic shot 74 to take a two-stroke lead. West Texas' Whitney Osborne and St. Martin's Lauren Roberts both shot 76.
Grand Canyon's Jacqueline Sneddon shot 82. Brittany Anderson shot 83, Erica Schlomer 84 and Jackie Schram 85 for the Antelopes.
GCU is 16 strokes behind first round leader Western Washington. West Texas is second at 315, and St. Martin's third at 326.
