Greene leads the way with 28 points in 123-60 win
1/11/07 (PHOENIX, AZ) Devon Greene (Jr./G/F, Phoenix, AZ / Fordham Univ.) totaled 28 points to lead eight players in double figures as Grand Canyon raced past Southwestern College to 123-60 in non-conference basketball action at Antelope gymnasium tonight. With the win Grand Canyon improves its season record to 7-5 and Southwestern drops its record to 5-15.
Bryan Lee (Sr., F/C, Antioch, California) had fifteen points and nine boards in only fifteen minutes in action. While Andray Glenn (So., C, Modesto, California/Modesto Christian H.S.) added eleven points and nine rebounds. Grand Canyon shot a blistering 60.7% (17-28) from behind the three point line. Greene did most of the damage hitting seven of eight from behind the arc and nine of fourteen shots overall.
Noah Mask led the Eagles with fourteen points and eleven rebounds. Brian Ream had thirteen points on 4-5 shooting from three point range.
Ten different players scored for Grand Canyon in the first half as the 'Lopes ran away from the eagles to lead 64-17 at halftime. Grand Canyon is off this weekend and resumes Pacific West Conference play with three games next week. The 'Lopes host Univ. of Hawaii-Hilo on Wednesday and Thursday. Tip off time for both nights is 7pm. On Saturday, 1/20/07 the 'Lopes host Chaminade Univ. of Honolulu in a 2:30 matinee.
