Women's Tennis Student-Athlete (1983, 1985-86)
A three-time NAIA National Tournament participant, Joanne Murto helped lift the level of play for GCU tennis. All three teams on which she played won NAIA District VII Championships. Twice during her three seasons Murto earned NAIA First Team All-American recognition and won the NAIA National Doubles Championship in 1983, teaming with Karen Regman. In 1986 Joanne was awarded the NAIA/ITCA Arthur Ashe Sportsmanship Award.
