Paul Coro is a Grand Canyon University senior writer who covers GCU Athletics for GCULopes.com and is the site's web editor.
In addition to writing for GCULopes.com since 2017, Coro also serves as the men's basketball radio broadcast analyst, contributes to home men's basketball television broadcasts, appears on GCUTV and ESPN+ and writes for GCU Magazine.
Coro covered the Phoenix Suns from 2004 to 2016 for The Arizona Republic/azcentral.com after holding the Arizona State and preps sports beats there. Coro’s peers selected him as the National Sports Media Association’s Arizona Sports Writer of the Year for 2010, 2015 and 2016, and he was named Best Sports Writer by Phoenix Magazine in 2006. He also was an Arizona Sports Hall of Fame nominee in 2018 and 2019.

Coro was an NBA national correspondent for the Los Angeles Times, a Japanese magazine basketball columnist, a local newscast contributor, a national television network panelist, a local prep sports radio show co-host and a staff writer for The Kansas City Star, East Valley Tribune and San Antonio Light.

Coro grew up near GCU in west Phoenix and attended Apollo High School. He graduated from Arizona State’s Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication as Undergraduate of the Year and placed first for sports writing in the national Hearst Journalism Awards.
Coro is married to Michelle, a media educator at Mountain Pointe High School and GCU adjunct professor who was honored with the Journalism Education Assocation's Lifetime Achievement Award. She also was the Arizona Interscholastic Press Association president and a National Scholastic Press Association board member. They have two daughters, Jasmine and Maya.
