Annie Ertz joined the Academics and Student-Athlete Development staff in January of 2025 and serves as an Academic Coordinator in the Grand Canyon Athletic Department.
Ertz joined GCU with teaching experience as well as a background in both the collegiate and professional sports landscape.
Ertz recently worked as a football academic support intern for the University of Minnesota in 2024, helping students with their daily academic studies. She served as a learning specialist for 15 football student-athletes, monitoring their grades, boosting academic engagement, and tutoring them with individualized support plans.
Ertz attended Towson University as a student-athlete, playing collegiate volleyball for four seasons and helping the team win both the CAA regular season and tournament championship in 2019. Ertz continued professionally overseas, playing for four years for multiple clubs in countries including Peru, Sweden, Switzerland, Hungary, and Cyprus.
Ertz graduated from Towson University in 2020 with a Bachelor of Science in History and Secondary Education. She earned a Master of Arts in History from The University of Essex in 2021.
