Alexandra Blaser joined the GCU compliance staff in February 2024 and serves as the Director of Compliance.
Blaser comes to GCU from Ottawa University Arizona in Surprise where she spent four and a half years with the Spirit. Blaser was the department's Assistant Athletic Director for Compliance for four years before moving into a role as the Assistant Athletic Director for Operations for her final eight months.
Blaser was the first Director of Compliance at OUAZ, establishing the department and creating all processes, procedures, resources and education for students, coaches and staff. She was a member of leadership in the Athletic Compliance Administrators Association in the NAIA and also an NAIA Eligibility Center Advisory Committee Member.
A former women's volleyball student-athlete, Blaser played at West Valley College in Saratoga, California, and was a setter. She also coached at Valley Christian High School in San Jose, California, and assisted the team in the California Interscholastic Federation Championship in 2013.
Blaser resides in Surprise, Arizona, and comes from a family with a strong background in athletics. Her younger sister, Britta, was an NAIA All-American at Biola University in women's volleyball. Her father, Steve, is a retired high school basketball coach and teacher who played college basketball at Gonzaga from 1967-69. Her mom, Nancy, is a retired commissioner of the Central Coast Section, the former Assistant Executive Director of the National Junior College Athletic Association, a former Assistant Director of Operations for the United States Olympic Committee, and a former high school swimming coach.
