Sasha Weber was hired by Grand Canyon women's basketball in August 2019. She enters her second season as a graduate assistant for the Lopes in 2020-21.
Weber is one of the more decorated players in Western Athletic Conference history, earning first team All-WAC honors twice while playing at New Mexico State from 2012-16. She also earned All-Academic honors twice and was the Most Valuable Player of the 2016 WAC women’s basketball tournament, leading the Aggies to their second consecutive championship.
Her 1,511 career points are ninth on the all-time Aggie scoring list. Her 269 made three-point baskets are the second most in NMSU history and sixth most in WAC annals.
Before coming to Grand Canyon, Weber worked during the 2018-19 season in game operations with the two-time defending NBA champion Golden State Warriors. She spent two seasons with European professional teams, Eisvogel USC Freiburg of the German premier league in 2016-17 and the Durham Palatinates of the United Kingdom’s top league in 2017-18.
A native of San Pablo, California, she was All-State at Timberline High School in Lacey, Washington and is the school’s all-time scoring leader.
