Kendall Hackney joined GCU in 2015 and is in her first season as director of basketball operations with the Grand Canyon University women’s basketball program.  Hackney attended Northwestern University majoring in Communication Studies and was a member and team captain for the women’s basketball team from 2009-2013. She never missed a game setting a NU record for 126 games played. Hackney finished with 1,547 career points ranking 9th in NU history. Other accolades include All-Big Ten selection, Big Ten Distinguished Scholar, Capital One Academic All-District selection, and Academic All-Big Ten.  A native of Cincinnati, Ohio, Hackney attended Mount Notre Dame High School where she won 4 straight division I state championships and was named Miss Ohio Basketball her senior year. Hackney and her team recorded 110 wins and 10 losses during her high school career. Other accolades include being named 2009 Co-Division I Player of the Year, 2008-09 Most Outstanding Player of Ohio state tournament, Cincinnati Enquirer Player of the Year, 2008-09 Cincinnati Northern Kentucky Women’s Sports Foundation high school basketball Player of the Year, 2008-09 LaRosa’s Female Athlete of the Year and finished with 1,212 points career points.  After graduation from Northwestern, Hackney worked as an intern for Athletes in Action’s Ultimate Training Camp in Fort Collins, CO and then worked in marketing services for an insurance company in downtown Cincinnati before moving to Phoenix. Â
