Chelsey Broermann returned to GCU for her second stint with the Lopes as the volunteer assistant coach, starting August 2019. Broermann was an assistant coach for the Grand Canyon softball team in 2014-15 after spending the 2013-14 season as a volunteer assistant with the program.
During Broermann's time on Pierson’s staff from 2013-2015, she helped guide the Lopes to their first regular season WAC championship title in 2014. She then spent three years at Georgetown University developing the defense and working with hitters. Most recently, she spent the 2018-2019 season at Texas as the Video Coordinator for the Longhorns, making a Super Regional appearance against Alabama.
Broermann served as a graduate assistant for the Arizona State softball team from 2010-2012 and later became the Director of Softball Operations. Broermann helped guide ASU to a PAC-10 Championship in 2011 and three College World Series appearances, including a National Championship in 2011. Prior to her time at ASU, Broermann spent one season playing at Azusa Pacific University.
She also had a coaching stint with the Birmingham Thunderbolts, where she worked specifically with the pitchers and catchers.
She graduated from Arizona State in 2010 with a BA in Communication. While earning a MA in Communication from ASU, she worked as a softball GA for the Sun Devils from 2010-2012 and Director is Operations for the 2013 season. Broermann also earned a MA in Business Leadership from GCU and a MPS in Sports Management from Georgetown.
