Randy Bellah was hired as Grand Canyon University’s Director of Aquatics in July 2006 and is responsible for overseeing the men’s and women’s swimming programs. GCU introduced swimming as an NCAA sport in 2007. Bellah is also responsible for recruiting and serves as an assistant coach.
In addition to his duties at GCU, Bellah has coached the Phoenix Christian High School swim team since 2004, a program in which he founded and developed. He was named the Grand Canyon Region Coach of the Year in 2005 and 2006, after leading the Phoenix Christian girls teams to a pair of fourth-place finishes at the Class 4A Division II state championships. Bellah's boys team was region champs in 2005. During his time at Phoenix Christian, he has coached several individual region and state champions.
Bellah has also coached football at Phoenix Christian, as well as boys basketball at Cactus Shadows, Independence and Phoenix Christian.
Bellah and his wife Julie have three kids, Brooke, Brendan and Taylor, and reside in Phoenix.
