Kayla Ferron completed her first season as a cross country volunteer assistant coach in 2019.
Ferron is originally from sunny Southern California where she ran cross country and track at Redondo Union High School. In high school, she was a part of a national record in the 4x1600 and three individual CIF Finals track championships.
After high school, she continued to pursue her running career at the University of Arizona, becoming a leader on the team, and securing the No. 5 time in the school record book for steeplechase with a mark of 10 minutes, 29 seconds. In the classroom, Ferron earned a number of accolades including two Academic All-Pac-12 selections and three University of Arizona academic honors.
The Torrance, California, native graduated from University of Arizona in May 2018 with a degree in Elementary Education.
