Luke DallaRiva enters his fourth season as Director of Basketball Operations in 2017-2018. In his role, DallaRiva serves all aspects of the program including compliance, recruiting, team travel, academic monitoring, practice planning and game preparation.
Following the 2016-17 season DallaRiva was honored by the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) as an Under Armour 30-Under-30 honoree, a group of up and coming young coaches in men's college basketball.
DallaRiva comes to GCU after having served as the Graduate Assistant at Kent State University for Coach Rob Senderoff. At Kent State, DallaRiva held responsibilities with game and practice preparation, along with video duties as well as academics, camps and day-to-day operations responsibilities.
DallaRiva also spent time at IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida working under NBA Skills Trainer Dan Barto. DallaRiva assisted in the training and development of twelve NBA draft picks in the 2012 and 2013 draft classes including Kendall Marshall, Moe Harkless, and Shane Larkin. DallaRiva also assisted with the professional training program for NBA and international pros including Larry Sanders, DeJuan Blair, Glen “Big Baby” Davis and Aaron Jackson (CSKA Moscow).
Prior to his time at IMG Academy, DallaRiva assisted Coach Mike Haupt at St. Augustine High School in San Diego en route to the 2013 California Division 3 state championship, the first in the school’s history. At St. Augustine, DallaRiva coordinated the player development program and handled the school’s film responsibilities along with scouting and game preparation.
DallaRiva graduated in 2013 from the University of San Diego with Bachelor of Arts degrees in both history and biology. He is scheduled to complete his Masters of Business Administration at GCU in March 2016.
