Dylan Hidalgo finished his first season as the Director of Basketball Operations in 2019-20, wrapping his second season on the staff after one year as a graduate assistant.
In his role, Hidalgo oversees the day-to-day operations of the men's basketball program including scheduling, travel, budgeting and camps.
Hidalgo spent the 2018-19 season as a graduate assistant coach, aiding the coaching staff in player development and game and practice preparation.
He is pursuing his Masters of Science in Leadership through the Colangelo College of Business.
Prior to arriving at GCU, Hidalgo spent two seasons as the assistant coach at Pima Community College in Tucson, Arizona. While there, he compiled a 53-18 record, won two Arizona Community College Athletic Conference Tournament championships and appeared in back-to-back NJCAA Division II National Tournaments including a National Championship Runner-Up finish in the 2018-19 season. Hidalgo also played a pivotal role in developing nine all-conference players, two All-Americans and one National Player of the Year.
Hidalgo played his collegiate career at the NAIA level. As a three-year starting point guard for Kansas Wesleyan University, he earned the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference Champions of Character Student-Athlete of the Year award in 2014. Hidalgo completed his Bachelors of Arts Degree in Exercise Science (emphasis in Personal Training) and a minor in Coaching at Kansas Wesleyan in the Spring of 2016.
Hidalgo, a native of Tucson, graduated from Rincon High School in 2012.
