If prospective student-athlete wants to compete in NCAA sports at a Division I school, the prospective student-athlete will need to register with the NCAA Eligibility Center to make sure the individual is on track to meet initial-eligibility standards.
Steps to Becoming a GCU Student-Athlete
- Register with the NCAA Eligibility Center at the beginning of your junior year.Â
- Complete the registration process including the amateurism section. Answer all questions as truthfully as possible. Incomplete or incorrectly reported information can jeopardize your eligibility status.
- Send your transcripts to the NCAA Eligibility Center
- Request your high school guidance counselor to send your transcripts at the end of your junior year and immediately following high school graduation.

- Complete your admissions application and meet with an admissions counselor at GCU.
- Send your test scores to the NCAA Eligibility Center. Enter 9999 when registering for the SAT or ACT.
- Request for final certification by logging back in during your senior year and update any new information and request final amateurism certification.
    Beginning April 1 for fall enrollees and Oct. 1 for spring enrollees.
