After an undefeated weekend in Oregon, Grand Canyon locked up the Mountain West Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week awards. Lopes sophomore midfielder
Tatum Hofstetter took home the offensive award, with junior goalkeeper
Emma Knack winning the defensive award.

Hofstetter contributed heavily in both GCU wins on the road trip, assisting the game-winning goal on Thursday at Portland State, as well as scoring her first collegiate goal in the 2-0 win at Oregon on Sunday. The Ole Miss transfer played 141 minutes as the team's attacking midfielder. The local product from Scottsdale and Arizona Connections Academy has started all four matches this season.
Hofstetter's goal was an impressive one. In the 20th minute, Hofstetter won a defensive header just above the top of the box, before she side-stepped her defender, creating space on her right foot, and curling a beautiful ball over the head and in the top-left quadrant of the goal. The goal was GCU's second in the first 20 minutes and would be the final score of the match.

Knack has been on a tear in goal, securing three straight road shutouts that all resulted in Lopes wins. The trip included a six-save shutout at Portland State and an 11-save shutout at Oregon.
Knack's 11-save performance Sunday ranks fourth all-time at Grand Canyon in the program's Division I era. Knack and the GCU defense faced 30 shots from Oregon and did not surrender a goal. The South Dakota State transfer had 34 saves last season with the Jackrabbits and already sits at 27 saves through four matches at GCU.
The junior goalkeeper holds a 0.871 save percentage through the first three weeks of the season and leads the Mountain West in shutouts (three) and saves (27).
Grand Canyon sits at 3-1, the third-best overall record in the Mountain West.
