Grand Canyon bolstered its frontcourt with the signing of Favor Ayodele, a Tennessee transfer who earned multiple accolades throughout her collegiate career.
From Móstoles, Spain, Ayodele enters her final collegiate season after previous stops of Independence (Kansas) Community College, Eastern Florida State College, Indian River State College, Pitt and Tennessee. The 6-foot-1 forward spent last season on the Lady Vols' Sweet 16 team, averaging 1.0 points and 1.7 rebounds in 15 games with a 60% clip from the field.
Ayodele brings in rebounding prowess, pulling down 6.2 rebounds per contest along with 4.7 points per game as she graduated from Pitt in 2023-24. There, she made 15 starts over 32 games and tallied nine games with 10 or more boards, notching two double-doubles in the process. She had her Division I career high of 18 points and 14 boards vs. West Virginia and followed that up with 14 rebounds and eight points vs. George Mason. She shot 46% from the floor, putting her D-I career shooting at 53% between Tennessee and Pitt.
Prior to the D-I ranks, Ayodele spent three seasons at the junior college level, earning All-America honors twice – first team in 2021-22 and second team in 2022-23 – with other high honors including Central Conference Player of the Year, World Exposure Report All-America Third Team and FCSAA/Region 8 All-Tournament Team in 2021-22.
A double-double was commonplace for Ayodele in those three years, averaging 14.1 points and 14.1 rebounds in 2022-23, 13.6 points and 13.2 rebounds in 2021-22, and 10.7 points and 11.8 rebounds her freshman year in 2020-21.
Ayodele played for club team CB Pozuelo in Spain prior to college, averaging 6.1 points and 5.1 rebounds for her Liga EBA team.
