After a 4-0 week with wins over Arizona State in Tempe and a sweep of UT Arlington in Texas, Grand Canyon took home two weekly WAC awards. Freshman
Jada Cooper won Co-Player of the Week, while
Taryn Batterton took home her third WAC Pitcher of the Week award.

Cooper went ballistic in the Lopes' latest four wins of the nation's longest active winning streak at 14 games. The Houston native homered in three of four games, including a two-run blast against Arizona State that helped put the game away for GCU. She finished the week with a bases-clearing, three-run double in the sixth inning at UTA to reclaim the lead and help GCU win 4-3 for a series sweep.
Cooper finished the week with three home runs, 10 RBIs, a .600 batting average, three doubles and four runs. She holds GCU's all-time freshman home run record (12) and holds a .815 slugging percentage that would be the highest in program history. She also has a .511 on-base percentage this season.

Batterton appeared in three of the four GCU games this week, earning the win in two of the games and extending her WAC lead for most wins in the conference with 16.
Batterton pitched the brunt of a combined shutout of Arizona State on Tuesday, going 4 2/3 innings and grabbing the win. She started Game 1 of the UTA series, going 3 1/3 innings without allowing an earned run. She did not meet the innings requirement to earn that win. In Game 3 of the series, the Latta, Oklahoma native went an impressive 5 2/3 innings in relief without allowing a run, striking out six and earning her 16th win of the season.
In 101 innings this season, Batterton holds a 1.52 ERA (13th lowest nationally) with 86 strikeouts. .
