Grant-Foster nabs 2nd WAC award of 2025

GCU swingman averaged 20 points, 7 rebounds in 2 wins
The calendar turned, and so did Tyon Grant-Foster's game.
The 2025 emergence of GCU's scoring star has continued with Grant-Foster garnering his second WAC Player of the Week award for his play following a week of illness.
Grant-Foster, a 6-foot-7 swingman from Kansas City, Kansas, averaged 20.0 points, 7.0 rebounds 1.5 blocks, 1.5 assists and 1.0 steals in 28.0 minutes per game of two Lopes wins that sent GCU into a WAC first-place tie.
Playing 28 minutes per game in a reserve role, Grant-Foster made 50% of his field goals, hit 3 of 8 shots from 3-point range and went 11 for 15 at the free throw line in GCU home wins against Seattle U and Utah Valley.
"Basketball's supposed to be fun," Grant-Foster said after the Lopes' sixth consecutive win. "You've got to have fun with it. It's my last year here. It's something I'm trying to take pride in, trying to just have fun every time I go out there."
The latter 75-57 victory on Saturday night ended the Wolverines' 10-game winning streak and tied the Lopes (17-5, 7-1 WAC) for first place at the conference season midpoint.
Since the new year, Grant-Foster is averaging 17.4 points, 6.1 rebounds, 1,9 blocked shots and 1.7 steals per game with 52.6% shooting from the field and 40.9% from 3-point range. In November and December, he averaged 10.5 points on 28% shooting.
"We were so good last year going into the tournament, and everybody wanted to give us their best shot," Grant-Foster said. "It's still the same thing. You have to keep that the same mindset as last year. It's growing on our team now."
With Lopes senior power forward JaKobe Coles winning in the season's opening week, GCU is tied with WAC co-leader Utah Valley for most WAC Player of the Week awards (three),
