Clinching a share of the WAC regular-season title, Grand Canyon senior guards
Trinity San Antonio and
Alyssa Durazo-Frescas combined for 41 points and 10 3-pointers in a Saturday win at California Baptist to earn the conference's weekly accolades.
San Antonio claimed WAC Player of the Week for the second consecutive week and third time this season. Durazo-Frescas garnered WAC Newcomer of the Week for the third time this season, totaling her fourth weekly award after sweeping both honors Nov. 18.
Scoring 20-plus points for the third straight game, San Antonio added six assists, seven steals, four rebounds and three 3-pointers in the 74-56 win in Riverside, California. Durazo-Frescas knocked down seven 3s, including three in the first quarter to lead all scorers with 21 points.
GCU returns to action Thursday at UT Arlington at 5:30 p.m. (Phoenix time). The Lopes need one win over their next four games to clinch the WAC regular-season championship outright and clinch the WAC Tournament No. 1 seed in Las Vegas.
