Sophomore led Lopes with top-25 finish in California
Grand Canyon sophomore Brenna Preap earned WAC Golfer of the Week for her top-25 showing in the Alice and John Wallace Women's Golf Classic earlier this week.

Preap, who is from Stockton, California, shot 5 over par over three days at Monterey Country Club in Palm Desert, California, placing 23rd in the tournament with six birdies after a 1-under final round. Of the tourney's 120 golfers, Preap tied for the sixth-most pars (120) in the field.

GCU placed 11th among 21 teams in a highly contested field that featured six teams ranked in the Clippd Scoreboard Top 50 rankings.

The Lopes are back in action next week for the GCU Invitational at GCU Golf Course. First- and second-round action begins Tuesday at 8 a.m., followed by third and final round play starting at 8 a.m. next Wednesday.
