The award measures the competitive success of all Division I non-football schools for the 2023-24 academic year.
Points are awarded for NCAA tournament qualification and advancement. GCU scored points in women's soccer, women's volleyball, men's basketball, women's tennis, men's golf, men's volleyball, softball, baseball and outdoor track and field.
GCU was the leader among non-football schools in softball as the only school to advance to a regional championship. The Lopes defeated San Diego State and Virginia Tech to advance to the regional championship of the Los Angeles Regional.
In addition to softball, GCU's men's basketball, men's volleyball and baseball teams also picked up significant points by advancing rounds in NCAA tournaments.
The men's volleyball team scored the most points for the Lopes by reaching the semifinals of the NCAA tournament after a first-round win over Ohio State.
The men's basketball team defeated Saint Mary's in the first round of the NCAA tournament before falling to Alabama.
The baseball team advanced to a regional championship after a pair of wins over top-25 opponents in Arizona and Dallas Baptist.
Of the 311 D-I schools who qualified for the Learfield Directors' Cup, GCU ranked No. 75 nationally. Of the non-football D-I members, GCU ranked second.
GCU trailed only Denver in the All-Sports Trophy standings. The Pioneers scored points in women's golf, men's and women's lacrosse, men's and women's tennis, men's soccer, women's gymnastics, skiing and by winning the national championship in men's ice hockey.
