Grand Canyon University announced on Friday that it has parted ways with cross country head coach
Paul Limpf after two seasons leading the program. An immediate national search is underway for the next cross country head coach.
Â
"We are thankful for Coach Limpf's dedication to the cross country program and his contributions to GCU," Vice President of Athletics Jamie Boggs said. "We wish him the best in his next career steps."
Â
Limpf coached GCU's cross country runners in the 2022 and 2023 seasons. In his two years, he also served as an assistant coach for the Lopes' distance runners in track and field.
Â
In 2023-24, the GCU athletic department set its new Division I-era record with 13 conference championships won. GCU has won 70 D-I conference championships including 41 in the last four academic years. The 2024-25 academic year will be GCU's final year in the WAC before transitioning to the West Coast Conference.
