GCU garners 4 NFCA regional honors for 1st time in program history
Grand Canyon graduate first baseman Ashley Trierweiler and graduate designated player Ramsay Lopez were named to the National Fastpitch Coaches Association's All-West Region second team while graduate utility player Kristin Fifield and senior pitcher Hailey Hudson were named to the West Region's third team. Fifield and Trierweiler collected their second consecutive all-region honors.
This group, who helped lead the Lopes to the WAC championship and an NCAA regional appearance this week, are now eligible for NFCA Division I All-America squads.
"I'm super proud of these young ladies," Lopes head coach Shanon Hays said. "Having four on the team says something about the strength of our program as a whole. These seniors have been great leaders, and I wish I could have them longer."
Ashley Trierweiler | All-West Region 2nd teamTrierweiler, a two-time all-region star, also claimed her first WAC postseason honors in five all-conference seasons, including being West Coast Conference Defensive Player of the Year during a four-year career at Santa Clara before transferring this season. She was GCU softball's first WAC Player of the Year since joining the conference in 2014.
On pace for another All-America season, Trierweiler leads the nation in hits (90) and ranks fourth in batting average (.459).
She also ranks first among active Division I players for batting average (.446) and third for career hits (292).

Lopez is also boasting a .346 season batting average with a .680 slugging percentage.
Hailey Hudson | All-West Region 3rd team Hudson receives her first NFCA all-region honor after earning her first WAC postseason awards in her second year at GCU, after being a junior college conference pitcher of the year and all-region honoree at McClennan Community College in Texas in 2022.
She is also GCU's first WAC Pitcher of the Year since Taylor Nowlin won the award in 2016.
