Grand Canyon senior shortstop
Katelyn Dunckel earned WAC Player of the Week after a dominant week of conference softball.
The Lopes improved to 30-8, maintaining their first-place WAC record of 9-2 with sweeps over California Baptist and Utah Tech last week.
Dunckel swung for a .529 batting average and a .941 slugging percentage while tallying nine hits, seven runs, seven RBIs, two home runs and a .579 on-base percentage. GcU's two-time National Fastpitch Coaches Association All-Region honoree and two-time All-WAC star also notched six assists and a 1.000 fielding percentage.
The Lopes will host a three-game WAC series against UT Arlington on Friday and Saturday at GCU Softball Stadium.
