LONG BEACH, Calif. – Grand Canyon swept Princeton and Long Beach State on Saturday at the Louisville Slugger Invitational, defeating the Tigers 7-3 before blanking the Beach 8-0 to move the Lopes' record to 18-5.

GCU notched seven runs on eight hits, scoring in four innings to chip away at Princeton for a 7-3 final.
Graduate designated player
Ramsay Lopez led the Lopes offense with two RBIs on two hits. Senior shortstop
Katelyn Dunckel also went 2 for 3 and scored twice. Graduate
Ashley Trierweiler and senior Kaitlyn Bran added one hit for one RBI.
The Lopes scored two runs in the first, third and fifth, holding the Tigers to only two innings of scoring with six hits and a .240 average despite no strikeouts.
Hudson shuts out Long Beach State
GCU senior pitcher
Hailey Hudson improved to 4-3 this season with a complete-game shutout in the Lopes' 8-0 win over Long Beach State. Hudson posted five strikeouts and only allowed three hits on the night.
The Lopes scored in four innings, including five runs in the sixth, for eight runs on 14 hits.
Leading 2-0 in the top of the fifth, junior third baseman
Lovey Kepa'a sent a three-run homer over the left-field wall for her first home run since Feb. 10, when she belted two.
GCU graduate right fielder
Kristin Fifield. who went 4 for 4 to raise her season batting average to .437, and junior center fielder
Makaiya Gomez notched one RBI apiece as well to increase the Lopes lead to 7-0.
In the top of the seventh, freshman catcher
Tinley Lucas hit her first career home run for GCU's final run of the evening. Lucas went 2 for 3 with a walk.
The Lopes resume the Louisville Slugger Invitational with games against Yale and North Dakota at Cal State Fullerton on Sunday.
