WAC selects Fifield for 2nd consecutive Player of the Week

Grand Canyon's Kristin Fifield earns her second-straight WAC Player of Week honor after an exceptional performance at the Littlewood Classic.

Fifield produced seven RBIs on six hits, including a walk-off two-run home run against No. 17 Virginia Tech in Saturday night's sixth inning to run-rule the Hokies 11-2.

She concluded the weekend at the plate with a seven hits, .438 batting average, .688 slugging percentage and .444 on-base percentage, while tallying 35 putouts and one assist at first base for a .973 fielding percentage.

GCU will host New Mexico State on Friday at 4 p.m. at GCU Softball Stadium to open its participation in the GCU/ASU Classic. Co-hosted with Arizona State, the tournament will also bring Idaho State, Seton Hall, Ohio State, and Texas State to GCU to face the Lopes.
