Grand Canyon softball is pleased to announce the signing of 11 incoming freshmen for the fall of 2025.
Lopes fourth-year head coach
Shanon Hays brings in 11 star-studded and accomplished players, many of whom are expected to make an instant impact for next year's squad and beyond.
Â
"I think this class could be the best freshman class we've ever had at GCU," Hays said. "We have some super pitching prospects along with some local talent that I believe have great futures here. Of course, we have continued to land some great kids from Oklahoma, which has been a great thing for our program since I've been here. This group will definitely make an immediate impact on our roster next year."
The group includes three pitchers, three utility players, two outfielders, two infielders and a catcher from California (three), Oklahoma (three), Arizona (two), Washington (two) and Texas (one).
MARLEYÂ TEASLEY
Infielder - Weatherford, Okla. - Weatherford H.S.
"

Marley was a huge recruit for us," Hays said. "She won a state championship this year and will probably be the Oklahoma 5A Player of the Year. We recruited her as a shortstop, but she almost pitched every inning for her high school team while also tying the single-season Oklahoma state home run record. She wanted to go to a faith-based school, and we were lucky enough to show her this was the place to be."
Â
Teasley is a four-year starter for Weatherford's softball and basketball programs, gaining district recognition in both sports. Marley put together a .450 batting average, 190 hits, 48 doubles, seven triples, 43 home runs (23 as a senior) and 163 RBIs in her high school career.Â
"I chose GCU because they are a highly competitive program and an incredible coaching staff," Teasley said. "The weather and campus are unbeatable."
ADDISON SHIFFLETT
Outfielder -Â Liberty Hill, Texas - Liberty Hill H.S.

"'Shifty' is what we call her," Hays said. "She's one of the best hitters we've probably ever recruited. Addison is lefty with great power, that was not only heavily recruited, but comes from a great program in the Blaze organization. We expect her to make an immediate impact on our lineup."
Â
Shifflett is a left-handed thrower and batter, putting up big numbers at the plate in her high school and travel careers. She was first team all-district and academic all-district in 2023 and 2024, taking home Offensive Player of the Year this spring. She had a .422 batting average, 40 runs, 64 RBIs, 15 home runs and a .945 slugging percentage in her junior season.
Â
"I chose GCU because I love the atmosphere here," Shifflett said. "The campus really feels like home."
MORGANÂ CAMPBELL
Utility - Shawnee, Okla. - North Rock Creek H.S.

"Morgan is a super utility player," Hays said. "She can play anywhere besides pitcher, is a great athlete and a very good hitter. We are thrilled to get both her and her sister."
Â
Morgan, a triplet sister of GCU signee Sarah Campbell, brings experience and success from Oklahoma. She is a four-year starter at North Rock Creek High School, taking home Offensive Player of the Year in 2023 when she and Sarah won a state title. She batted .425, had an on-base percentage of .504 and had 24 RBIs and 44 runs in her senior season.
"I chose GCU for many reasons," Morgan said. "The coaching staff has always been so welcoming and supportive, the program has made a name for itself the last couple of years, and the campus life was amazing when I visited."
SARAH CAMPBELL
Catcher - Shawnee, Okla. - North Rock Creek H.S.

"We see Sarah as one of the best defensive catchers in the country," Hays said. "She's got a phenomenal arm and has really improved as a hitter. We are going to be in an awesome spot when we combine her with Tinley behind the plate. To get her and Morgan was a big deal."
Â
Sarah, like her sister, played four years of softball and basketball in high school. Sarah was a consistent force in the all-district teams and was named the 2023 Defensive Player of the Year. Her career high school statistics include a .425 batting average, 17 home runs, 115 RBIs, 40 doubles and 15 triples.
Â
"I chose GCU because the campus was gorgeous and seemed to have a great community," Campbell said. "I also loved the coaching philosophies they shared during my visit."
ABI JONES
Pitcher - Salinas, Calif. - Salinas H.S.

"Abi is one of the top arms in the state of California," Hays said. "She wanted to go to a faith-based school, which made us a great fit. She is a hard thrower and great competitor that played for a really good travel program with Athletics in California. She's another kid that we need to come right in and throw big innings for us."
Â
Jones competed in softball, volleyball and swimming during her four years at Salinas High School. Her junior year was a breakout one when she made the first teams for league, district and state. She was named Gabilan Divisions' Pitcher of the Year. Her numbers were eye-popping with 300 strikeouts and a 1.50 ERA over 193 innings. She also hit .333. Jones' senior season is upcoming.
Â
"I chose GCU because I love the campus and Arizona, as well as the softball program," Jones said.
HANNAH DEMOFF
Infielder - Chino, Cali. - Ontario Christian H.S.

"Hannah is a super athlete that we signed late," Hays said. "She is a player that has gotten better every weekend that we have gone and seen her play. She played shortstop in high school, but we know she can play infield and outfield, and are super excited to see her add some incredible depth to our roster next fall."Â
Â
Demoff, a four-year starter at Ontario Christian High School, has been a two-year captain and received all-league designations on first and second teams over the past two seasons. Demoff was awarded her team Most Valuable Player award this year and made the All-CIF team. Primarily a middle infielder, Demoff's versatility will allow her to impact the roster in many positions on the field. Hannah is a scholar-athlete who made her school's honor roll.
Â
"I chose GCU because of the Christian values and Christ-centered education," Demoff said. "Also because of coaches who care about their players and their players' relationships with God."
MCKINSEY BEYER
Utility - Scottsdale, Ariz. - Desert Mountain H.S.
                                                       Â

"Kinsey is a tall, athletic outfielder with huge upside," Hays said. "She was another very highly recruited kid that we were lucky enough to convince to stay close to home, and with her being close she was able to come watch us play in person. Safe to say, she liked what our program is all about."
Beyer, a Phoenix-area product, has been a star student-athlete through her career at Desert Mountain High School. On the field, Beyer has been all-district and all-region the past two seasons, winning back-to-back state championships with Desert Mountain. In the classroom, she has achieved a 4.3 GPA and has been on the all-academic team the past two seasons. She will be a team captain in the Wolves; upcoming spring season.
Â
"I chose GCU because of the best coaches in the game," Beyer said.
LILLYÂ CAMP
Pitcher - Aberdeen, Wash. - Aberdeen H.S.

"Adding Lilly was huge for us," Hays said. "We will be losing two pitchers after this season, so she has made us feel a lot better about things, knowing the talent she will add. She's a tall, athletic and hard-throwing pitcher that really came on late. We are glad we saw her early on when she started playing with the Western Lady Hawks, and she has shown us that she has grit and determination to improve on an already very talented skill set."
Â
Camp dominated through her first three seasons at the high school level, being honored as a first-team all-league recipient in 2022, 2023 and 2024. She has accumulated over 600 strikeouts with her senior season to come in the spring. She is also an all-league player at volleyball, playing all four years of high school at Aberdeen. The 6-foot pitcher is expected to make an immediate impact in the rotation up arrival in fall 2025.
"I chose GCU because of how much it felt like a home away from home," Camp said. "I know I will be safe there and know I already have people there that will help me when I need it."
RAEGAN HOLTORF
Utility - Peoria, Ariz. - Sandra Day O'Connor H.S.

"Raegan has built a reputation as one of the best players in Arizona," Hays said. "She's a great infielder and outfielder, as well as a left-handed bat that can run. She has a great feel for the game, and we've noticed how great of a leader she is. We think she will be a really good player as soon as she steps on campus."
Â
Holtorf is a top Arizona recruit who is staying home to be a Lope. She comes from a sports family with her mother, Ryanne, playing at New Mexico State and collegiate athlete sisters, including Rylee playing softball at Florida. Her father Ronnie, was a career .318 hitter as an infielder for GCU baseball from 1997-2000. Raegan is a four-year player in softball and soccer at Sandra Day O'Connor High School and was honored on all-region first team in both sports.
"I loved that it was a Christian school and the relationships I built with the coaches," Holtorf said. "I also loved that the girls weren't just teammates. They were each other's best friends as well. The campus is so friendly and active. I loved it, and it is close to home."
IZZY RUEDA
Outfielder - Lakewood, Calif. - Lakewood H.S.

"Izzy is a talented outfielder, slapper and runner," Hays said. "She attended many of our camps, as this was always a place she wanted to go. She will instantly add depth in our outfield and speed on the bases. I am excited to see her continue to improve over the spring and summer. She is a high-character, faith-based kid that is a great fit at Grand Canyon."
Â
Izzy, a four-year starter at Lakewood High School, has improved on great statistics each year. As a freshman, she hit .382 with a .480 on-base percentage. The next year, she improved to a .405Â average with seven stolen bases to be named to all-league second team. In her junior season, she hit .450 with an on-base percentage of .540 and stole 11 bases to receive first-team honors. Her senior season is upcoming.
Â
"I chose GCU because the campus was gorgeous and seemed to have a great community," Campbell said. "I also loved the coaching philosophies they shared during my visit."
LISA LIDDELL
Pitcher - Onalaska, Wash. - Onalaska H.S.

"Lisa is a player that (assistant coach) Hunter (Hays) saw and he invited her to our camp," Hays said. "She's a 6-foot-tall pitcher that blew us away with her potential. She has a really good drop ball and rise ball, and we just couldn't pass up adding her to our class. She, along with Abi and Lilly, will bring some youth and depth to the circle in 2025-26."
Â
Liddell has been the starting pitcher at Onalaska High School the past three seasons, taking first-team all-league honors in her sophomore and junior seasons. She has been a captain for three years and looks to finish a successful high school career in her senior season this spring.
"I chose GCU because of the awesome coaching staff and campus," Liddell said.
