National RBI leader
Kristin Fifield and new Grand Canyon teammate Ashley Trierweiler were selected by D1Softball as two of last season's top 100 college softball players in the nation on the D100 list.
D1Softball compiled the best 100 players of this past season based on offensive stats, defensive impact, value to their team, advanced metrics and a splash of postseason success.

GCU newcomer Ashley Trierweiler, who earned second-team All-American distinction from D1Softball last month, was also awarded third-team All-American status by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association, following All-West Coast Conference first-team and NFCAÂ All-Pacific Region honors.Â
Trierweiler capped her senior Santa Clara season on top, ranking second nationally in batting average at .486 and third in on-base percentage at .584 and leading the WCC in batting average, on-base percentage, doubles (14), walks (34), runs (50), hits (71) and total bases (108).
The Santa Clara starter also notched a 21-game hit streak, 37-game on-base streak, and lifted the Broncos to their first back-to-back 20-win seasons since 2005-2006.
Fifield became the record-holder for all-time career home runs (44), single-season homers (21), and GCU's Division I-era career RBIs (185) with 85 RBIs on the season, breaking all three records within a month's span.
The offensive powerhouse led the nation in RBIs for 10 weeks and was key in the Lopes winningest historical season to date (47-13), producing eight RBIs in the WAC Championship Tournament alone, to earn All-Tournament honors and achieve GCU's second consecutive program title.Â
Fifield was named to the NFCA All-West Region first team, the all-conference first team and the WAC All-Defensive team.  Â
