Grand Canyon added another true scorer in Boise State transfer Anna Ostlie, supplementing other recent offensive additions to the WAC's fourth-ranked scoring team last season.
Â
The 5-foot-8 guard returns home after spending three seasons at Boise State. The Scottsdale native attended Chaparral High School, where she led the Firebirds to a Class 5A state title as a sophomore, the program's first state championship since 2001. She was named to
The Arizona Republic's All-Arizona Team as a junior and finished her high school career averaging 21.6 points per game.
Â
"Adding a knockdown shooter like Anna makes everyone on the court better," GCU head coach
Molly Miller said. "She is a reliable scorer with a great work ethic. Her basketball IQ will allow her to learn the system quickly and her ability to stretch defenses will make her an instant threat. Â I'm excited this can be a homecoming for Anna as we welcome her back to Phoenix to join our Lope family."
Â
In three seasons at Boise State, Ostlie appeared in 78 games and made 40 starts with averages of 6.4 points, 2.3 rebounds and 1.4 assists per contest. She shot 31.8% from deep in three seasons with a career-high 38.6% clip last year.
Â

Â
Ostlie is the fourth signee this week for the Lopes, who have seven newcomers to for the 2023-24 campaign. Ostlie joins redshirt senior
Sydney Palma, who attended Boulder Creek High School in Anthem, as local talent on the team.
Â
By position, Ostlie is the fourth guard to join the team this offseason with Kristyna Jeskeova (Long Beach State), Trinity San Antonio (California Baptist) and Callie Cooper (UC Santa Barbara). Miller has also added three forwards in Laura (San Diego) and Sydney (Arizona State) Erikstrup and Shay Fano (Utah Valley).
