The Lopes (14-5) won a midweek battle of 11-4 teams by defeating New Mexico 11-8 on Tuesday. GCU backed it up by taking a road series at Sacramento State, one of the WAC's top programs.
GCU made its first ever appearance in the D1Baseball.com top-25 poll on May 9, 2022, and spent the final three weeks of the regular season at No. 25 to earn an at-large bid to the NCAA tournament.
In an exciting week across the country, the Lopes were one of six new teams to enter the poll. Boston College (16), Miami (17), Missouri (22), Kentucky (23) and West Virginia (24) entered the rankings alongside GCU.
The newly ranked Lopes are set for a week of action at Arizona State on Wednesday night and at home against Sam Houston this weekend.
