Tyon Grant-Foster winning two weeks ago, the Lopes have won three consecutive WAC Player of the Week awards now that McGlothan has won back-to-back honors for helping GCU to a 9-1 record.
McGlothan, a 6-foot-7, 235-pound Valley native, earned the honor for his 26-point, 11-rebound performance in the Lopes' 91-63 win against Portland on Saturday night, when GCU played the nightcap of the Colangelo Classic at the Footprint Center in downtown Phoenix.
In recording his season scoring high for his 19th career double-double, McGlothan made 10 of 17 shots from the field and came within one of his career-best for 3-pointers. The Basha High School graduate made 4 of 9 tries from beyond the arc and went 2 for 2 on free throws while adding a block, a steal and an assist in 31 minutes. It was the fourth-highest scoring total of his career, which has 1,258 points and 884 rebounds.
In the past four games, McGlothan is averaging 19.5 points and 10.0 rebounds per game. In that same span, GCU has set program bests for NCAA Evaluation Tool (NET) rankings each week to get to No. 31 in the nation this week.
