WAC reveals scheduling formula, matchups

Each slate includes 6 home-and-away, 3 home-only, 3 away-only pairings
With the conference revamped to 13 members, the WAC restructured its basketball schedules so that all members will face each other and play 18 conference games next season.
For Grand Canyon, the men and women will have different slates in most respects, although both Lopes teams will have home-and-away series with California Baptist, New Mexico State and Stephen F. Austin.
Each team will play the other 12 members at least once by having six home-and-away series, three home-only pairings and three away-only matchups.
The WAC unveiled the scheduling formula on Monday, but the release of game dates is pending.
The imbalanced schedules will be considered in WAC Tournament seeding with the conference introducing an algorithm that seeds teams by rating their performance against all opponents, conference and nonconference. The seeding model is intended to improve conference teams' rankings in NET, the metric used in NCAA tournament seeding.
Using the new WAC formula, the GCU men would have been a WAC Tournament No 2 seed last season rather than No. 4.
