Fifield earns 1st WAC Hitter of the Week honor

GCU outfielder hit .667 with 1.889 slugging percentage
Grand Canyon junior right fielder Kristin Fifield earned her first WAC Hitter of the Week award this season after posting a .667 batting average over the weekend against New Mexico State.
Fifield went 6 for 9 in the home sweep of the Aggies, raising her season average to .349. Her series 1.889 slugging percentage included three home runs in those nine at bats, giving her a share of the WAC home runs lead with 13 this season.
Fifield collected nine RBI, five runs scored and also registered a stolen base. Fifield started her week with a 1-for-3 effort in the first game of the three-game series. The final two games were her most productive. In Game 2, she went 3 for 3 at the plate with a pair of home runs and four RBI before closing the weekend with a 2-for-3 performance in Game 3 with another four-RBI game and a home run.
Fiefield and teammates Denae Chatman and Katelyn Dunckel are tied for second in the WAC with 46 RBIs each.
