Opening NET rankings land

Lopes rank top 30% nationally, 4th among conference teams
Grand Canyon landed at No. 104 in the season debut of the NCAA Evaluation Tool (NET) rankings.
GCU ranks among the nation's top 30% and fourth among WAC programs in the opening NET, a ranking system that replaced the Ratings Percentage Index (RPI) in 2018. The NET's calculations are based on results with considerations to quality of opponents, location of games, scoring margin and efficiency.
This is the first season that the WAC also will be using a similar tool to decide WAC Tournament seeding with an algorithm that considers nonconference and conference play.
The Lopes are 7-2 after winning Saturday at Wyoming for their fourth consecutive victory. GCU's next three opponents are Loyola Marymount (No. 105) at home on Wednesday, North Texas (No. 68) in the Jerry Colangelo Classic in Footprint Center on Saturday and Pepperdine (No. 108) at home on Dec. 17.
