Two Grand Canyon softball players earned Preseason All-WAC nods while conference coaches picked the Lopes softball team to finish fifth in the WAC.

"We are so excited for Ryan and Kaylee for being named to the Preseason All-WAC team," Lopes head coach
Ann Pierson said. "They are in great company as the WAC is made up of tremendous athletes. They have been huge reasons of our successes and we are really looking forward to the upcoming season."

Denhart, a native of Los Alamito, California, earned All-WAC second-team honors and was named to the All-WAC Tournament team as a sophomore. She led the Lopes with a 4.41 ERA while picking up three wins and recording 40 strikeouts in the circle. Denhart appeared in 15 games, totaling 63 1/3 innings with 10 starts. In the Lopes final game of the shortened 2020 season, Denhart tossed a no-hitter against South Dakota.

A native of Gilbert, Arizona, Dietrich is coming into her senior season after being a vital part of the Lopes lineup in her previous two seasons. She appeared in 23 games while making 18 starts for GCU last season. Dietrich posted a .965 fielding percentage with 57 putouts and 25 assists.

The Lopes open the season against Utah at GCU Softball Stadium on Thursday, Feb. 11. The first pitch is slated for 6 p.m. (Phoenix time).
