The Grand Canyon women's basketball heads to New Mexico State and UT Rio Grande Valley this week. Eariler this season, the Lopes defeated UTRGV 62-60 in overtime and handed New Mexico State a 60-49 defeat in GCU Arena.

THREE THINGS TO KNOW
- WAC STANDINGS: With three WAC regular-season games remaining, GCU and Kansas City are tied for first place. The Lopes' remaining schedule is at New Mexico State and at UTRGV this week and at CSU Bakersfield next week. Kansas City's remaining schedule is at CSU State at Saturday before home games against Utah Valley and Seattle U next week.

- SENIOR LEADER: GCU power forward Da'jah Daniel enters the week ranked eight in the WAC in scoring and first in rebounding. Her 10.5 rebounds per game also ranks 19th in the nation (ninth for defensive rebounds at 7.9 per game). She leads the Lopes with 10 double-doubles this season. Daniel is also second in the WAC in blocks per game.

- LOPES ON THE ROAD:Â GCU has moved to 5-4 on the road, marking the first time under head coach Nicole Powell that a GCU team is over .500 in games away from GCU Arena. The previous best road record was 6-8, set during the 2017-18 season.
SCOUTING
New Mexico State is the defending WAC champion. The Aggies has gone 1-3 in the last four conference games without their star, Gia Pack. The Aggies lost to Kansas City, Seattle and UTRGV. NMSU defeated Utah Valley on Feb. 15.
UT Rio Grande Valley has sported a 3-3 record in February. The Vaqueros defeated NMSU, Chicago State and CSU Bakersfield. They lost to Kansas City, Utah Valley and Seattle.
Trelynn Tyler leads UTRGV with 13 points per game.
