Lopes announce WAC play

The Grand Canyon women's soccer team will begin their delayed WAC schedule on Feb. 18, 2021, the Western Athletic Conference announced on Monday.
The Lopes will play a double round-robin format, facing the same team back-to-back matches at the same location. The Lopes will play all conference matches on Thursdays and Saturdays beginning with Utah Valley at home on Feb. 18 and Feb. 20. The following week, the Lopes will travel to St. George, Utah for a their first conference matchup with Dixie State on Feb. 25 and Feb. 27.
GCU will also host UT Rio Grande Valley on March 18 and March 20, and California Baptist in their final homestand of the regular season on April 1 and 3. The Lopes will travel to Seattle U and Chicago State during March.
Two weeks out of the WAC season the Lopes will have single week games, those come March 6 at home against New Mexico State and on the road at Las Cruces to wrap up the regular season on April 9.
For the second time the Lopes will host the WAC Tournament with matches beginning in the midweek on Tuesday, April 13 with the championship match taking place on Saturday, April 17.
