Grand Canyon now knows it will start the WAC portion of its schedule in an unfamiliar place against a familiar color.

The conference revealed this season's two-team, one-site weekly format, which pits WAC squads for consecutive Friday and Saturday games to reduce travel and exposure. Each team will have one idle conference week over the nine-week stretch that leads up to the March 11-13 WAC Tournament.
First-year head coach
Bryce Drew's Lopes will start the conference slate Jan. 8-9 at new WAC member Tarleton, another purple squad that is being led by four-time NCAA tournament coach Billy Gillespie in Stephenville, Texas. The Lopes' home schedule features a GCU Arena visit from defending conference champion New Mexico State on Jan. 29-30.
GCU's conference schedule includes the following two-game sets:
- Jan. 8-9: at Tarleton
- Jan. 15-16: vs. Chicago State
- Jan. 22-23: at Dixie State
- Jan. 29-30: vs. New Mexico State
- Feb. 5-6: at UT Rio Grande Valley
- Feb. 12-13: idle in WAC play
- Feb. 19-20: vs. California Baptist
- Feb. 26-27: at Seattle U
- March 5-6: vs. Utah Valley
- March 11-13: WAC Tournament in Las Vegas
The Lopes' regular season can start as early as Nov. 25 for a team returning standouts
Alessandro Lever and
Jovan Blacksher Jr. The nonconference schedule, which needed to be reconfigured when the season was delayed, will be announced in the coming weeks.
