The Bears (1-3-1) scored the game-winning goal in the 75th minute after the Lopes failed to clear the ball out of the box. The ball fell to Northern Colorado's Cara Quinn, who kicked the ball into the left side of the goal. GCU also welcomed backed players who missed time due to injuries. Forward
Dani Babb subbed into the game in the 33rd minute and recorded her first minutes in 384 days after suffering an injury in the 2018 opener. Babb was aggressive in her 30 minutes of game time, recording two shots and continually putting pressure on the UNC back line.
Sophia Roberts also saw her first regular season action for the Lopes. The freshman recorded 38 minutes and took one shot.
The Lopes will wrap up the lengthy homestand on Sunday night, when they host Colorado State at 7 p.m. The Rams (2-1-1) are coming off a 1-1 draw at Eastern Washington on Sunday.
