HERMOSA BEACH, Calif. – Three Grand Canyon beach volleyball pairings are set to compete in the USA Volleyball Collegiate Beach Championships as a part of the Team USA Championship Series on Thursday.
The Lopes pairings pf
Bella Bauman and
Jessica Stansfield,
Katie Hess and
Hannah Towne, and
Teagan DeFalco and
Mikaela Raudsepp will compete in Hermosa Beach, Calif., as a part of the main draw of the tournament.
Bauman, a sophomore, and Stansfield, a junior, are seeded No. 19 in the main draw. The duo is the first Lopes' set to play on Thursday as a part of Pool A. Bauman and Stansfield take on Toni Rodriguez and Ashlyn Rasnick-Pope (LSU) at 9 a.m (Phoenix time).
Hess and Towne earned their way to the main draw by taking down a USC pairing, 21-18, 21-16. The freshman-junior pair are part of Pool H, where they will take on an Arizona State duo at 11 a.m.
DeFalco. a redshirt freshman, and Raudsepp, a senior, are also set to take on an ASU pairing in Elly Lundberg and Katelyn Carballo. They also will compete at 11 a.m. as part of Pool G.
