eshman, will form one of two U.S. teams that will compete in the FIVB Beach Volleyball U21 World Championships in Udon Thani, Thailand on June 18 – 23.
Bauman and DeFalco outlasted five other tandems in tournament player in Chula Vista to be among the 32 pairs in the FIVB Beach Volleyball U21 Championships main draw. The event will be the only age-group world championship on the 2018-19 FIVB international schedule.
Bauman has competed for the Lopes in 25 matches during the 2019 season on Courts 2 and 3. The Wheaton, Ill., native has compiled a 21-4 record alongside junior
Jessica Stansfield, including big wins over No. 3 Florida State and No. 8 Florida International. Bauman also competed for the Lopes in 27 matches during the 2018 season, finishing with an 11-16 record that featured wins over USC and Cal Poly on Court 3 to highlight her freshman season.
DeFalco joined beach volleyball for her first season in 2019 after competing for the GCU women's volleyball team in 2017 and 2018. The Long Beach, Calif., native earned a spot on the 2017 All-WAC Freshman Team as a part of the indoor program. DeFalco has competed on all four courts for the beach volleyball team in 2019 alongside four partners, compiling a 17-8 record.
GCU beach volleyball closes out the regular season this weekend in Los Angeles. The No. 15 Lopes take on No. 2 USC and No. 7 Cal Poly on Thursday before facing the No. 1 team in the country, UCLA, and No. 10 Long Beach State on Saturday.
