The Grand Canyon men's and women's swimming teams completed their weekend at the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America National Invitational at Cleveland State as the men finished in fourth place with 495.5 points and the women in 30th place with 50 points.
The 400-yard freestyle relay group of
Samuel McKenzie,
Cameron Carney,
Mazen Shoukri and
Florent Janin finished in third place with a time of 2 minutes, 56.89 seconds.
Robyn Edwards,
Kyra Forrest,
Diana Jaruseviciute and
Emily Muteti finished 28th with a time of 3:31.27.
Alonso Carazo Barbero had success in two long-distance events, finishing third in the 1,000 freestyle with a time if 9:20.27 and fourth in the 1,650 freestyle (15.29.63).
In the 100 freestyle, Shoukri finished seventh (44.51), McKenzie in eighth (44.61) and Janin in 12th with a time of 44.66.
Carney,
Eran Ber and
Dylan Nasser placed in the 200 backstroke final as Carney finished in 16th (1:49.53), Nasser in 18th (1:50.04) and Ber in 19th (1:51.02)
Asahi Nagahata finished 20th in the 200 breaststroke with a time of 2:03.04.
