Da'jah Daniel was named WAC Player of the Week, the conference office announced Monday.
Daniel gave a career-best performance Saturday when she posted her first collegiate double-double in a huge way, tallying a whopping 24 points and 22 rebounds as the Lopes downed California Baptist 75-71 at GCU Arena.
A native of Killeen, Texas, Daniel helped the Lopes (5-12, 3-4 WAC) to victory by recording career highs for points and rebounds. Daniel was nearly perfect from the field in the game, making 11 of 12 shots.
Daniel ranks second in the WAC for field goal percentage in conference play at .545, while her 9.0 rebounds per game ranks fifth.
Daniel and the Lopes return to GCU Arena to host CSU Bakersfield on Saturday. Tipoff is slated for 2 p.m. (Arizona time).
