PHOENIX – The Grand Canyon beach volleyball team dominated the courts on Wednesday against Texas A&M Kingsville, sweeping their opponents and soaring to 5-1 on the season.
The Lopes bounced back quickly from their loss to No. 5 Hawaii and took down the Javelinas in just two sets for all five matches.
The No. 4 and 5 pairings started the night off well for the Lopes with an early 2-0 lead.
Tyanna Roy and
Jessica Stansfield took charge, winning both sets 21-10 while
Kelli Iverson and
Emily Reinking were not far behind with their two-set win of 21-9, 21-13.
Molly Turner and
Tjasa Kotnik continued their winning streak and dominated on Court 1, taking down the Javelinas' No. 1 pairing with scores of 21-10, 21-8.
Jessica Clark and
Hannah Towne finished their second set and match just seconds later with a solid win of 21-6, 21-7.
Jordyn Sanchez and
Rebecca Conrad wrapped up the fifth and final match win for the Lopes with a score of 21-11 in both sets.
The Lopes' schedule takes them on the road for the Gamecock Challenge in Columbia, S.C. beginning March 11-12.
